Outcomes

Participants will learn how to create and edit documents by using character and paragraph formatting. Students enrolling in this course should understand the basic concepts involved in working with a personal computer (PC). No prior knowledge of Word Pro is assumed.

Prerequisites

Windows (95/98/NT 4) introduction, or equivalent knowledge.

Performance-based objectives
  • Create, edit, save, view, and print a document by using Word Pro.
  • Open an existing document, and format characters and paragraphs by using SmartIcons, menus, and
  • InfoBoxes.
  • Create, modify, and format tables.
  • Check documents for spelling and grammar by using proofing tools, and control page appearance by setting margins, tabs, and page breaks, and by creating headers and footers.
  • Create a document by using an existing SmartMaster and by creating a new SmartMaster.
  • Share the editing of documents with co-workers by using team computing features.
  • Create an Internet home page by using Word Pro SmartMasters.
