Introduction


Outcomes

Participants will learn the basic skills necessary to use the Genius Project4Domino application. Students will learn how to use Project4Domino to assist them with project planning.
Project management is a complex field that can involve subjective decision making. There is not one way to teach project management, and our courseware is not designed to teach all techniques nor to cover every aspect of project management. Rather, it sets up situations and examples that will best showcase the features and functionality of the Project4Domino software.


Prerequisites

Windows introduction, or equivalent knowledge,
Extensive experience using Lotus Notes to create, manage and maintain documents in a multi-database environment
Students should have some project management experience and be familiar with terms such as Gantt Chart, task, critical path, and resource. No knowledge of Genius Project4Domino is required

Performance-based objectives
  • Identify the steps involved in project planning and become familiar with project management software by learning how to use the Project4Domino dashboard.
  • Build a project Work Breakdown Structure by entering project tasks, creating an outline, and entering task durations.
  • Create and modify task relationships by linking tasks and attaching task constraints.
  • Staff a project by entering the resource pool into the Resource Sheet, assigning resources to tasks, and entering resource costs using time sheets.
  • Sort and filter project data effectively by sorting data in a sheet using the Sort dialog box and by viewing the data that meets specific criteria using filters.
